We know applying for funding can feel intimitading—we’ve been there as entrepreneurs ourselves. That’s why we’ve kept the Slow Business Grant simple, transparent and community driven. These are answers to the questions we hear most often, from who can apply to how winners are chosen. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help!

Q: Who is eligible to apply?

A: The grant is open to artisan/creative businesses such as farmers, bakers, potters, artists, makers and outdoor entrepreneurs. We prioritize businesses built with care, creativity and community impact.

Q: How much is each grant?

A: Each month, one entrepreneur will receive $2500 to help grow their business.

Q: What are the application requirements?

Applicants submit:

  • 1-2 photos of products, workspace or creations to be shared on social media if they win.

  • Short application questions.

  • $15 application fee

Q: Why is there an application fee? And is it refundable?

A: The goal of this project is that as a “collective”— doers and makers fund each others grants. Each application fee goes to funding these grants and keeping the Slow Business movement growing. Application fees are non-refundable.

Q: How are winners selected?

A: Winners are chosen based on merit, not chance. Our team and guest judges evaluate applications for creativity, craftsmanship, sustainability and alignment with slow business values. Application fees do not guarantee a grant award.

Q: How often are grants awarded?

A: Grants are awarded monthly. Applications open on the 1st of the month, close on the 21st and winners are announced on the 28th.

Q: What happens after I apply?

A: Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our team and guest Jude. Winners are announced on our website and social channels. We may also share highlights of other applicants to celebrate the community.
